Himalaya is a brand that you are all aware of already. This is the first brand that I started using when I first had pimples. I still remember the day I first found my teenage pimple and went to a medical store and they suggested me Himalaya Neem Face Wash as good medicine for pimple.

LOL… Like seriously? People called it medicine back then

Anyway, now that we are grown up and we can probably choose the best out of those suggested ones by the elders. We know what suits our skin best. But we also don’t know the fact of using an anti-acne product. What I mean to say is do we really go through the ingredients list before buying an anti-acne product? Even if some does, but how many exactly know which ingredients work best for treating acne or pimples?

Many of you are thinking NO! Right?

So today I will be sharing some of my experiences regarding the Himalaya Neem Face Wash. I have been randomly using this one because I find it handy almost everywhere, be it in my home or when I am travelling somewhere and forgot to take my facewash that I mostly use. Because you know we can get it from any store nearby and also it’s really very cheap.

So here is some of the facts that you might not know about this Face Wash and should always check before reaching this product. So let’s jump in-

Paraben & Sulfate free

Yes ! You heard it absolutely right. Himalaya Neem face wash is free from Paraben & harmful SLS that are mostly found in face washes for its super lathering power. However, it has ALS (Ammonium Lauryl Sulfate) which is a pretty common cleansing agent that is derived from coconut or palm kernel oil.

It’s universally used for its mild foaming abilities that help to create a creamy lather while washing with water. It is chemically closely related to the sulfate group but the Ammonium part makes it milder.

Fights Occasional Acne

Have you heard about the Occasional Acne before? At least I didn’t until I researched a lot about this product and after using it for a few years with my hard-earned experience. It sounds weird but it’s true that the Himalaya Neem face wash is hardly effective for acne-prone skin. However, if you’re using this continuously, and some sudden acne pops up then it helps to fight back.

Goodness of AHA

Yes, I’m not kidding I swear! When I saw this I couldn’t believe my eyes too but it consists of Citric acid which technically acts as an AHA, derived from citrus fruits. Thus it helps to maintain the pH balance of the skin which is unbelievable right?

Use of Phenoxyethanol

Many of you might not be aware of this composition but let me explain a bit. Basically, Phenoxyethanol works as a stabilizer in almost every skincare/haircare products and perfumes preservative to prevent products from losing their effectiveness or spoiling.  In Himalaya Neem face wash, it’s been combined with another chemical, to increase its antibacterial properties that are effective at reducing acne and zits.

Not effective in controlling excessive sebum/oil

This point might disappoint some of you but to be honest Himalaya Neem face wash doesn’t really effective in controlling excessive sebum/oil. However, you can feel less oil once after using this but your skin might end up producing that disastrous oil after a few hours (which was really disappointing for me)

Overall, the face wash is pretty good as it treats mild oil production, removing dirt from the skin, and giving a refreshing feeling. Also, not to forget that it silently delivers a kind of chemical exfoliation (so trending these days in the skincare game) to the skin.

I still remember when I first saw the newly launched Mamaearth Vitamin C Sleeping Mask on their website and couldn’t wait any further to grab it. I was insanely looking for a good Vitamin C enrich product to incorporate in my skincare regimen for so long. Luckily I got my hand on this one and nothing can be more coincidental than getting that desired item from one of my preferred brands . So in this post, I will be talking about the Vitamin C sleeping mask and my experience using the product.

Product Description

Price & Quantity

599 INR for 100 gm

Skin Type

All skin types including Sensitive skin (which is an added advantage)

Mamaearth Vitamin C Sleeping Mask comes in a transparent foam like soft and frothy texture. I just loved the texture since I opened the jar. Smells hevenly and after applying on skin it feels like a mist on face. It claims to contain Vitamin C and Aloe Vera Extract which supply moisture to the skin and replenish Lost Radiance. It also helps to restore skin elasticity, reducing any early signs of Aging, maintains tones and strengthens the skin cells.

Texture under sunlight

Texture under Natural Light

My experience using the Mamaearth Vitamin C Sleeping Mask

The packaging is very basic like the other Mamaearth products that come with a white frosted pastic jar with a screw lid. I believe it helps the product to get contaminated with any external fungal reaction as you can tighten the cap as necessary. It also comes with a spatula which is so cute and make the application even much easier.

The Vitamin C mask has a frothy texture which I found really different and unique. Trust on me, you will also surprise too to see its texture. It has a clear aqua gel consistency and a soothing aroma (which I truly fell in love with already). As the name suggests, it is specifically for night time, before sleeping/going to bed. So that the product can sit and work on the skin overnight.

There are no other chemical listed on the ingredients list apart from the main ingredients Aqua, Aloe vera juice, Vitamin C and some preservatives to maintain the shelf life. Also to be noted, natural ingredients might trigger existing allergies, so do a patch test always if you are someone with common allergic problems.

How I use it

I use Vitamin C Mask as a last step of my night time routine, and this pack is so light and watery that it takes time to set into the skin. I don’t know why to use it for only night time, when one can get the benefit from using them in the morning also. Because some research also says that Vitamin C products work best when applied in the morning before heading out for the day, because UV radiation is generally high that time.

Also it sets like spraying mist on skin and a very slight cooling effect right after the application. I love the way this mask deeply nourishes my skin and makes it look plump the next morning. Initially I thought how it would work on my sensitive skin but (touch wood) I haven’t experienced anything discomforting till now.

Vitamin C sleeping mask is always a great way to combat any damaged skin from UV radiation, free radicals and dark spots and help to bring back the natural glow and illumination. Have been using from quite a few days now and a big thumbs up for this product from my side. Do let me know which Vitamin C skincare are you following lately.

See you in my next post! TaDaa

Today I will review the Nivea Hand Cream since it has been in my pending list from so long. This is the new launch from the brand and comes at a really affordable price. So in this post you will get to know why should you use a hand cream and its overall verdict.

Basically I am a person who tends to wash hands too often. Having said that I literally mean that I also tend to reach out to creams at the same time. But, I have never owned a hand cream till then. When I saw Nivea had introduced their affordable range of hand creams, it instantly caught my attention. I thought that it was the perfect time to get my hands on them. Because, I have only been sticking to my face creams all these years to moisturize my hands. Nivea Hand Creams come in 3 variants, and I picked up only two from them, i.e. Indulging Beeswax and Refreshing Aloe vera.

Available Types

  1. Indulging Glycerine & Beeswax (For all skin types)
  2. Soothing Glycerine & Olive(For very dry skin)
  3. Refreshing Glyserine & Aloe Vera (For dry skin)

Net Quantity & Price

90/- for 75 ml (might change at times do check)

Product Description

The formula is lightly creamy and texture depends on the variants. Like the one which is for dry skin little thick than the other which is for all skin types. It comes in a white tube packaging so you can pump out the desired amount and get going without any wastage. It is so handy that you can carry it almost everywhere. The cream contains many nourishing ingredients depending on the variants. Each ingredient came from natural sources that are really great for keeping our hands and cuticles hydrated throughout the day

My Experience using Nivea Hand Cream

Overall, the product is quite good in fact a lot better than what I expected it to be. From the texture of the cream to the absorption power,no stickyness are everything that a good hand cream should have. Surprisingly this hand cream has it all. I loved everything about this product, from the cute packaging to the nourishing formula and the pleasant scent. The price point is also way too reasonable than the other available brands in the market.

It quickly absorbs evenly on the palm when applied and the plus point is it sinks into the skin within few minutes, without leaving the hands slippery, sticky or greasy. The mild scent of the cream is so delightful and my hands feel well-hydrated and soft for quite a long time till the next wash. It makes my hand so soft and supple all day long. As I wash my hands very frequently, so it helped me a lot to keep that moisture in place without feeling any dryness.

This hand cream has become a handbag essential for me now and I will highly recommend it to all of you who had not used any hand cream yet. Trust me on this, it will be a game changer for you all, especially for them who suffer from dry and flaky skin on the hands. And to be very honest I was a kid with this problem but the days passed and my hands gradually recovered from that state. But it shows up at times and to keep a hold on this, I always make sure that my palms are well moisturized.

Are you a person with dry skin? Looking out for a sunscreen that help to ease the dryness at the same time? Well, so you have come to the right place. Let’s go through this Biotique Bio Sandalwood Ultra Soothing Face Lotion review to find out how this product works on skin and who should actually buy this sunscreen. Because I have always struggled a lot finding out the right sunscreen for my skin and ended up opting for the different product from my skin type.

Quantity & Price

350 INR for 120ml (price might differ)

Skin Type

Normal to dry skin

Product Description

The texture of the lotion is neither too runny nor too thick. It is blended onto the skin smoothly. When applied on skin it does minimize the problem of dry skin surface, but leaves little bit oily residue on skin. So dry skin people may love it and find it useful. This nutrient rich lotion protects skin with broad spectrum SPF 50 UVA/UVB sunscreen.  It helps to reduce the risk of skin aging, skin cancer, and any further skin darkening effects from the sun. It is also organically pure, preservative free and Dermatological tested for our safety.

It smells somewhat like Ayurvedic herbs with sandalwood scent being prominent. Packaging is usual bottle packaging, green screw cap and a semi transparent off white body. The lotion is cream in color with a tint of pink into it. It also has 50+ SPF UVA/UVB sunscreen and an ultra soothing consistency which is perfect for using on body as well.

Ingredients lists

My experience using the Biotique Bio Sandalwood Face Lotion

I always appreciate this brand for coming up with natural properties into their products. Each product seems so natural and less chemical ingredients into it. I found this lotion moderately light and moisturizing on skin. But since I have a combination skin with an oily T-Zone and dry cheeks, it doesn’t go well on my skin and leaves me all greasy. Except those winter days, when my skin turns out like a desert and I badly reach out to this product.

Nonetheless, it doesn’t leave that white cast on skin as some of the sunscreen from other brands does, and blends easily into the skin the moment you apply it. I totally hate sunblocks/sunscreens which give out that greasy feeling, so definitely NO for me! Though the lotion itself says on its packaging that this is for all skin types, but I would suggest not going for if you have a combination to oily skin. Also I’m not a fan of strong scent so I personally didn’t like the smell but if you are someone who like those herbs smell then I am sure you’re gonna love it totally.

After it is applied on skin

If you’re someone like me who has already bought this product so I would suggest you not to let your money go in vain. Try using it on the other exposed part of the body, because even if our skin is oily, our body skin tends to be drier. Even I have very dry elbows and hands and being moisturizing enough I found it working good for my hands. It also has become a must-have for me in almost every season now.

So that’s it for this post. I hope you found this review helpful. If you did so, then please like and share this post. And if you have any question regarding anything then leave your comment below. I will try to revert to your comment asap!

TONER is a predominant part of our skincare routine but sadly had always been underrated. There are very few people who actually understand the importance of a TONER and what it does to our skin. I have already made a separate post on the benefits of toner.

You can check it out here- https://www.myobsessionzz.com/why-should-you-invest-in-a-good-toner-as-a-part-of-your-skincare-regimen/

But, for those who have not really been into it yet, then it is high time that you should start using a toner! So, in this post, I have suggested 5 affordable toners for beginners that you can begin with. Even school/college-going girls can absolutely try it out. So let’s jump into it straight-
